Shots taken with my new lens

I purchased two Tamron lens about 2 days ago. They are the 17-50mm & sp90mm. Both are excellent lens but I am still not used to them. I guess that I should spent more time shooting with the lens to get better & nice photos. Below are some of the shots that I took with the tammies.

My apologies

I have promised to upload a series of photos taken during the Hari Gawai Gathering that day but to be honest, I am not going to do that. I was very frustrated that evening not only because my gears were not functioning well but the event was poorly organised. I dont want to comment more on the event as I have deleted all the shots.
In replace, I've decided to post the series below. I just hope that you all will like them.

Wild flowers series. All taken with the Tamron 70-300mm. I am still not satisfied with the shots. Most shots were too soft and blurr due to hand shakes. I plan to shoot them again with my coming soon Tamron SP90mm.

Random picks from my collections. Also taken with the 70-300mm.

Another busy nite tomorrow

Our STU (Sarawak Teachers Union) is organising a gathering called the "Gawai Gathering" at Kampung Rasau, Serian, about 35-45minutes drive from Kuching City. There will be some cultural shows and that's why I want to be there. I just hope that things will run smoothly tomorrow nite for me and my camera. Photos will be uploaded here after the editing. In the meantime, have fun looking at the images below.

some shots by the river bank

I like this small river. The water is so crystal clear and situated just a few metres from the school.

2nd day in the 2nd semester

Back to school again...sighh... Still feeling a bit lazy after the Harvest Festival & Mid-term school holidays. But..I have a lot to do in school. Those kids need me. Hmm...for CB viewers out there, here's a little bit info about my school. It is a primary school for kids from 7-12 years old. The kids stay in the school's dorms from Mon-Friday and go home on weekends. I do feel sorry for those kids. I know that it's hard for them being on their own at such early ages but on the other hand, that will teach them to be independent. The rest...see for yourselves below.

BRINGING BACK OLD MEMORIES

Some people throw old photos away for new ones but not me. I love keeping them especially those I considered containing useful information for future references. The photos below were taken when I was teaching in one of the remote schools in Belaga District, Sarawak.

This school is no longer exist. It was moved together with the whole village to the new resettlement area in Sungai Assap near Bakun Hydro electric project downriver. Long Jawe was one of those Kenyah villages along Batang Balui a.k.a Rejang River.

Longboat ride..the only way to move around for the ordinary local folks.

Was known as the headhunters' weapon but now more as exhibition's object. It is normally accompanied by a small carving knife as shown below.

This place was famous among the locals for it's valueable fish known as "Semah" and "Empurau". I was one of those lucky "outsiders" who was invited by some local friends to taste the juicy fish!

I need a break after the long tiring weeks. I rushed to complete my house renovation for the "Hari Gawai". Then got my busy with the festival organising committee. Sighhh.... Anyway, these photos were taken during my weekend (resting) trip alone to one of our recreational parks here. It is known by the locals as "Ranchan Pool" but it is not a pool but a river. Located just a few minutes drive from town. It's a nice place to rest and shoot some photos.
